
Our story
FORA was founded by its master distillers, Soraya and John.
Soraya grew up in Andorra where she spent her childhood foraging the local mountains for their many treasures, including sloes for her mother’s famous homemade sloe gin, whilst John grew up in Seattle, the birthplace of artisanal beer, where he founded the city’s first craft beer tour company.
Gin has always been a big part of their story: they fell in love over a gin martini (or ten) whilst working in the TV industry and even co-wrote a documentary travel series about it!

Following a particularly thirst-inducing hike in the beautiful Incles valley, Soraya and John went to order a G’n’T and realised that, despite the abundance of juniper and other botanicals that they had just walked past, there were no local gin options.
By the time their glasses were empty, Soraya and John had decided to turn their passion into a new career path and to create Andorra’s first ever craft gin distillery.

Following some pretty extensive research, they enlisted the help of the multi award-winning master distiller Matt Servini (The Craft Distilling Business) to train them in the art of distillation and their concept for their first gin, Terroir, soon became a reality.
Four years later… FORA was born, and the adventure began.
